Toilet Paper Tube Pocket Tutorial

Prepare yourself for the massive hoarding of toilet paper roll tubes that will occur after you make your first gift pocket. These cute little hanging pockets are so easy and fun to make for any holiday or occasion. Here's a quick little tutorial so you can move on to making these cute little things.

1. Start with an empty toilet paper tube and a piece of patterned paper 4 1/4' x 6'. Wrap the paper around the tube and glue it together where the ends meet.

2. Smash one end together until it lies flat and stitch the end together through all layers.
3. Embellish the top with a doily folded in half, pom-poms, lace, ribbon, or layers of all of them. Punch holes on the sides and thread ribbon or twill through the sides. Finish off with a knot on each side to create a hanging handle.

4. Embellish with lots of layers!

I've made several versions of these (Halloween, Back to School). These will be filled with treats and swim goggles for my kids to celebrate the end of summer. The two teacher versions will hold gift cards for the teachers we appreciate. I'm linking these up to the Moxie Fab World Gift Packaging Challenge.

Supplies:
Authentique Curiosity
Pebbles Inc mini clothespins
Pink Paislee Ruffled Twill
Maya Road Tape Measure Twill

What do you use on top of the roll to make a "lid?'

Denise-
There is no lid on top. You thread twine through the sides and it hangs with treats inside (like a cup).
