Faux Chalkboard Art Tutorial

I posted a few chalkboard art inspired cards last week and wanted to give you a mini tutorial on how I mimicked the look of a mini chalkboard. I'm kind of in love with these mini chalk art creations and have a few more to share and few more on top of that that I cannot share yet.

So ready-lets get started. Supplies include: Canvas Corp Chalk Stock (Artist Trading Size), Studio g White Chalk Ink, American Crafts White, Galaxy Marker, a paper towel and some stamps.

I used the paper towel to dab directly onto the white ink pad to pick up some of the ink. Paper towels work well because they have a rough texture rather than smooth tissues. Swipe the paper towel across the chalk stock to give it the look of an erased chalkboard.

Draw an outline around the border of your chalk board with the Galaxy Marker. Don't worry about perfection. It is supposed to be wonky and hand drawn. Stamp your images in white chalk ink onto the chalk stock . Let it sit for a few minutes to set so it won't smudge. No need to emboss, it will quickly dry and be smudge proof.

Use the little mini chalkboard art to make an extra special card.
