Today I have a fun tutorial to share with you. I made my own flower embellishment on one of my June Kit pages and loved how it turned out. Here are the step by step instructions to make one for yourself.
1. You will need 2 identical large circles and 6 small circles. (My large circles are 2 1/4" and my smaller are 1 3/8") You will also need one 12" strip of coordainating paper that will become your ruffle. Ink the edges of everything if you would like. 2. Use lots of glue and glue down the smaller circles around the edge of one of the bigger circles. Space them out evenly. This creates the base of your circle flower.

3. Accordian fold a long 12 inch strip of paper back and forth like making a paper fan. My piece is 1 1/2 x 12.

4. Again using lots of glue-start adhering the fold to the edges of the unused big circle. You will have to smash some of the folds out with your finger as you go to make it lay a little flat. After you have done a bit of it lay it on the base of the circle flower to make sure the circles will be peeking out around the edges when it is assembled. If you run out of folded paper before you get all the way around the circle, just accordian fold some more and add it in. You now have a paper ruffle. 5. Add 3 pop-up glue dots to the center. I also like to run my tape runner around the inside edges of the ruffle.
6. Smash it all together and you have a super cute handmade flower embellishment for your next layout.
